Fred Van Drieson was born on July 14, 1965, in Toledo, Ohio, to his loving parents, Larry and Grace Van Drieson. He grew up alongside his brother, David, and sister, Michelle. Throughout his life, Fred became known for his strong work ethic, dedication to his family, and appreciation for the simple things that brought him happiness.
If you knew Fred, you knew there were a few things he really loved: classic rock music, pick-up trucks, John Deere tractors, his beloved dog, Jewel, a cold glass of unsweetened iced tea, and spending time puttering around in his garage. Whether he was working on something, tinkering with a project, or simply finding another reason to be out in the garage, Fred was happiest when he had something to keep his hands busy. Fred took great pride in his career as a plumber and pipefitter with Local 50 Union. He was a hardworking man who valued doing his job well and dedicated many years to his trade. Above all, Fred's faith was an important part of his life. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses more than 40 years ago and remained dedicated to Jehovah throughout his life. His faith gave him hope for the future and the promise of seeing loved ones again.
Fred will be remembered for the things he loved, the work he took pride in, and the memories he created with those closest to him. Although he will be deeply missed, his family and friends can find comfort in remembering the lived and the hope of seeing him again. And if there's one thing we can be sure of, it's that Fred would probably prefer we remember him with a smile, a good classic rock song, and maybe a pick-up truck nearby.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Tracy Van Drieson; his daughter, Makayla (Devontay) Dobbins; and stepson, Taylor (Kacie) Hines. He is also survived by his brother, David (Tracy) Van Drieson, along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Grace Van Drieson, and his sister, Michelle Kearney.
