Fred H. Ostrowski

Frederick H. Ostrowski age 81 passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2026 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio. He was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather and dear friend to many.

Born in Toledo, Ohio on March 28th 1944 Fred lived a life filled with love, laughter and kindness. He was known for his wonderful smile, genuine want to help others and desire to help everyone be happy.

Fred worked for General Motors Transmission plant in Toledo for 44.8 years where he was respected for his dedication and hard work. He was a job Setter for most of his time there leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with him.

In his free time, Fred enjoyed visiting with his children, grandchildren, family and friends the most. He enjoyed many fishing trips with sons Glenn, Tony and nephew Ben Hensley. He was a member of both the Sylvania Moose Lodge and the VFW 2898 where he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Stella and Henry Ostrowski, and his daughter Nicole (Nikki) Trimmer (Shawn). He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon Ostrowski; his sons, Glenn Smith (Toni) and Tony Ostrowski (Julie) and daughter, Kim; eleven grandchildren, Braden, Ashlen, Chelsie, Michael, Kylie, Logan, Devin, Derek, Michael, Corey, Lori; seven great-grandchildren, Caden, Zavey, Peyton, Thomas, Elizabeth, Olivia, Audrey, and one on the way, as well as extended family and friends of which there are far too many to list. Just remember that your friendship and love for him is a reflection of what he felt for all of you all these many years. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly for his kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit. He loved you all.

A celebration of life for Fred will be held at the Sylvania Moose Lodge located at 6072 Main Street Sylvania Ohio 43560 on March 14th from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the VFW 2898, 3925 W Alexis Rd, Toledo, OH 43623in memory of Fred Ostrowski. A donation box for the VFW will also be present at the celebration of life. 

Fred may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
