Frances N Sanchez

Frances N. Sanchez, affectionately known as Pancha and Keka, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on October 4, 1940, in Glendale, Arizona, Frances lived a life filled with love, dedication, and a strong sense of family. She attended Glendale High School and married the love of her life, Arturo R. Sanchez, in 1960. Together, they embraced the joy and responsibility of raising eight children, creating a lasting legacy that she cherished deeply.

In 1963, Frances and her family moved to Toledo, Ohio, where she became a valued member of the Golden Haven Nursing Home staff. Her work was a reflection of her generous spirit and her unwavering commitment to caring for others. Beyond her career, Frances was a devoted homemaker, proud of her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—a title she carried with immense pride, as her family flourished around her.

Frances was known for her stern yet humorous personality, often bringing laughter to those around her with her sarcastic humor. She lived her faith as a faithful Catholic, instilling values in her children and grandchildren that would last a lifetime. Her hard work and dedication to her family are testaments to her remarkable character.

Among her many interests, Frances found immense joy in traveling, creating cherished memories on car rides, exploring diverse states with loved ones, and enjoying family reunions in the beautiful south mountains of Phoenix, Arizona. She had an affinity for picnicking, playing bingo, and indulging in shopping, activities that brought her joy and allowed her to connect with her family in delightful ways. Frances loved having deep conversations, and her presence will be sorely missed at the gatherings where stories were shared and laughter rang out.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arturo, her father Antonio Najera, her mother Apolinaria Gonzales Najera and step-father Auerilo Monje,  her daughters Margaret Dillard and Sylvia Trevino and her siblings Elisa, Frank and Joe. She also mourned the loss of her great-grandson, Maurice Hill III, whose absence she felt deeply.

She is survived by her loving children: Teresa George, Guadalupe Jennings and husband George, Patricia Sanchez, Arturo Sanchez Jr., Remigio Sanchez and wife Mashel, and Angelita Sanchez. Frances was blessed with a beautiful family who adored her, including her cherished grandchildren: Andre II, Alejandro, Demi, John II, Ray, Jacob, Antonio, Teresa, Latricia, Adan, Jessica, William IV, Elisa, and Gabriel, along with 22 loving great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy of love and caring. And her loving siblings Emelia, Lorenzo, Mary, David, Genevieve and Rick. 

Frances N. Sanchez's memory will forever linger in the hearts of her family and friends. A visitation honoring her life will be held on June 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a service to follow at 4:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623.
