Forrest E. Nailor, age 84, a devoted lifelong resident of Maumee, Ohio, peacefully passed away on September 7, 2025, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Born on May 19, 1941, he was the cherished son of Howard W. and Mary L. (VanDromme) Nailor.
Forrest dedicated 37 years of his life to General Motors, where he built a solid career before retiring in January of 1997. His greatest joy came from the time spent with his family, particularly his beloved grandchildren. Forrest had a passion for outdoor activities, enjoying skeet and trap shooting, hunting, and fishing. He also found enjoyment in visiting the casino to play video poker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sue Nailor; his son, John Nailor; his daughter, Nicole Hinsey; and his grandchildren, Benjamin and Allison Hinsey. Forrest is also remembered by his sisters, Valerie (Larry) Neyhart and Rosemary Bowman, along with many nieces and nephews who hold him dear. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary Nailor.
In honor of Forrest’s memory, services will be private. Those wishing to make a tribute in his name may consider contributing to the Alzheimer’s Association at 480 W. Dussel Dr. #140, Maumee, OH 43537. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
