Evelyn L. Wagner, a beloved soul who graced this world with her warmth and generosity, was born on May 22, 1940, in Bowling Green, Ohio. After a life filled with love, laughter, and service, she passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, in her cherished hometown of Bowling Green.

Evelyn's career spanned several avenues, notably in the retail business and as a dedicated school secretary, serving her community with unwavering commitment for many years. She also took great pride in her role as a lunch aide for the Maumee school system until her well-earned retirement. Those who were fortunate enough to work alongside Evelyn remember her as a friend to all, truly embodying a spirit of kindness and support that enriched the lives of many.

A proud graduate of Bowling Green High School, Evelyn cherished her education and used it to foster a life dedicated to cultivating loving relationships. Her personality radiated warmth; she was generous, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Evelyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening was not merely a hobby but a passion that showcased her nurturing spirit. Her beautifully tended gardens were not just a testament to her love for flowers but also served as a vibrant backdrop to countless family gatherings. Sitting on her front porch, listening to the sounds of nature while sipping on a cup of tea, brought her immense happiness. She also relished embarking on trips, going camping, and boating, memories that will forever remain etched in the hearts of her loved ones. An accomplished cook and baker, Evelyn's kitchen was a place of love where delicious aromas blended with laughter and joyous conversations.

Evelyn’s greatest pride stemmed from her family. She is survived by her loving children, Deborah (Danny) Santogrossi, Harold (Linda) Yoder Jr., Valery (Mark) Anderson, and Jodi Shaw (Scott). She shared her life with a close-knit community of siblings, including Harold (Bonnie) Barr, Robert Barr, Sandy (Carl), Larry Barr, Phil Barr, Donald Barr (Margaret), and Charlene. Evelyn's legacy extends to her 11 grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were graced by her love and affection.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Elma Barr, and her devoted husband, Thomas, with whom she shared over 35 wonderful years of marriage.

In remembrance of Evelyn's life and the indelible mark she left on everyone fortunate enough to know her, a memorial gathering will be held on April 11, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Sylvania in Toledo, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by an additional gathering until 3:00 PM.
