Erma Jewel Pittman

Erma Jewel Pittman, age 67, entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of family and friends. She was born on April 6, 1959, in Calhoun City, Mississippi, to Bobbie Jean Pittman and Joe Louis Pratt. 

Erma attended and graduated from E.L. Bowsher High School and continued her education at the University of Toledo, where she pursued a variety of studies and lifelong interests. She took great pride in her accomplishments and was recognized for her contribution to a construction project that was featured in a magazine publication. 

A woman of deep faith, Erma accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. She remained steadfast in her belief throughout her life and was known for encouraging others to trust God and always keep prayer at the center of their lives.

Erma was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, cherished daughter, sister, and friend. She possessed a beautiful spirit that drew people to her. Known for her warmth, humor, generosity, and compassion, she had a special way of making others feel loved and welcomed. 

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to her life. Erma enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved playing Bingo, spending time at her favorite internet café, and relaxing while watching her favorite series on Amazon Prime and Netflix. 

She also had a passion for cooking, and her homemade dressing was a family favorite that everyone looked forward to enjoying during gatherings and special occasions. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Bobbie Jean Pittman; sisters, Paulette Mars and Pamela Turner; and grandson, Kevion Giles. 

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her children, Terrance Grace, Evelyn (Jonas) Grace Williams, Bobbie Thomas, and Darilyn Livingston; her father, Joe (Erma) Pratt; sisters, JoAnn Pittman, Deborah Randolph, Jacqueline Pittman, Brenda Pratt, Donna (Darryle) Johnson, and LaToya Johnson; brothers, Joe Jr. Turner, Cedric (Jewel) Pratt, Danny Pratt, and Quincy (Sadiari) Pratt; grandchildren, Viola Goodlow, Ravanna Turner Bey III, Terricka Grace, Ka'Mora Giles, Jayon Bumpus, Janylah Bumpus, and Lansing Grace; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Erma's legacy of faith, love, kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family will live on in all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will be treasured forever, and her love will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio.
