It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Erika E. Palmer, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who died on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Born February 5, 1933, in Munich, Germany, Erika was a dedicated and loving mother of seven children. She was a hardworking retail associate for over forty years, retiring at the remarkable age of eighty-five.
Her family will forever remember the joy she found in singing, gardening, her knowledge of holistic nutrition, her appreciation for good coffee, decadent chocolate and a slice of pound cake and her cherished German accent. Erika toured with a light opera company in Germany and later sang with the Sweet Adeline’s in Toledo, Ohio.
She is survived by six of her children: David (Dianne), Michael (April), Joseph (Laurie), Charles (Cindy), Nancy (Dennis), and Jonathan (Lisa), as well as her sister, Inge. She is also lovingly remembered by her thirteen grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Jeannette, Jocelyn, Julianna, Christiana, Andrew, Autumn, Katelyn, Brianna, Ashley, Garrett and Connor; and her five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Adeline, Waylon, Cooper, and Jaxson and daughter-in-law, Amanda Palmer. Her love remains a guiding presence for all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, David L. Palmer, Sr. and their son, Patrick Palmer.
The family will receive guests Monday, June 29th, 2026, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo with a funeral mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
