Emil John DePaulis, Jr., known affectionately as John, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 81. Born on February 28, 1944, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, John was a dedicated automotive factory worker at McCords for 20 years before retiring in 1983. He was an Army veteran, proudly serving his country and embodying the values of kindness, positivity, and generosity.

A graduate of Lincoln Park High School, John had a personality that illuminated the lives of those around him. He was known for his non-judgmental nature, infectious laughter, and great sense of humor. He possessed a heart full of warmth and was always first to lend a helping hand to family and friends, a testament to his giving spirit. His love for sports, particularly football, the Detroit Tigers, and the Lions, brought him much joy, making each game day a special occasion filled with camaraderie and excitement.

John had a deep appreciation for music, especially the sounds of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. He cherished the melodies of guitar music and aspired to play himself, a dream that resonated within his lively soul. Additionally, he enjoyed visiting the casino—a fun retreat that added an element of thrill to his life.

John is survived by his beloved sister, Cynthia Foster. He took great pride in his family, which includes his cherished nieces and nephews: David C. Foster, Annette Foster, Renee (Jack) Heebsh, Heather (Aaron) Angebrandt-Eppolite, Candice Angebrandt, and Scott (Jessica) Angebrandt. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Leonard Angebrandt. Their bonds provided John with immense happiness, and he created countless memories that will forever warm their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Emil J. DePaulis and Jennie DePaulis, as well as his dear sister, Rosilyn Angebrandt, and brother-in-law, David J. Foster. Their love and guidance were cornerstones in John's life, and while they may no longer be with him, their spirits remain ever-present.
