Elizabeth Anne "Beth" Mahoney, age 50, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024. She was born August 7, 1973 in Toledo, Ohio to Douglas A. Grau and Barbara J. Haggerty (Block).
In addition to her parents, Beth was preceded in death by her loving and devoted grandparents, Walter R. Block and Rosemary C. Block (Sehlmeyer). Beth is survived by her 3 loving children, Elijah, Evan, and Gracelyn Mahoney, whom she shared with Michael Mahoney; 4 siblings, Teri (John) Klinger, Laurie Cole (Joe-deceased), Rich (Susan) Grau, and Angie (Tony) Hartzell. As well as several nieces and nephews who she adored.
She grew up being the youngest of 5 children, but don't let that fool you, she was no baby of the family. She had a brilliant fiery personality and would always stand up for what was right. She loved her siblings with all her heart and soul.
Beth graduated from E.L. Bowsher High School in 1991. After high school she worked in the medical field for over 25 years. She had a gift of wanting to help others in need and derived a great sense of pride of taking care of whatever was needed. She was always at her best when she was able to make someone else's day better.
Her greatest joy in life were her 3 children, Eli, Evan, and Gracie. She was born to be their mom. She always made sure her children were taken care of, no matter how big they have grown, they were still her babies. She instilled in them how important it was to be kind and caring and to make sure they knew they had a voice in this world and that it was important, it meant something and to use it. It would be their most powerful tool. She knew they were the greatest treasure she was given.
Beth had so many memorable traits the list is exhausting. But to name a few; She had the most fabulous sense of humor and a fiercely quick wit, it was a sight to witness, it would leave most people in awe. You always knew, when you were in her presence, she was going to be singing a song, whistling a tune, or quoting a movie. She loved listening to music and had a talent of making up her own words to tailor a song as a dedication to her children. She would get lost in watching movies, her favorites were the old black and whites from the 1930's and 1940's.
She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Rest in peace Beth, all our love to you. May God bless you and keep you safe.
