Oregon, Oh

Elaine Iola Emmel, a loving grandmother and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, in Oregon, Ohio, at the age of 99. Born on March 20, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio as the beloved daughter of the late Ethel and Ralph Lowry. Elaine touched the lives of everyone around her with her and lovable personality, behind a legacy of love and warmth.

Elaine's journey began at Waite High School, where she cultivated her vivacious spirit before embarking on a successful career as a jewelry and clothing sales person. Her talents extended far beyond the workplace; she found joy in crocheting, needlepoint, and storytelling, hobbies that showcased her creativity and artistry. Elaine had a passion for planting flowers, a reflection of her nurturing nature, and she delighted in dolling herself up for special occasions and family outings. Friday nights were sacred to her, as she enjoyed going out to eat with her beloved husband and family, fostering connections and creating memories.

One of the joys of Elaine's life was traveling to Italy, a testament to her adventurous heart and curiosity about the world. However, it was her family that brought her the greatest pride. Elaine loved her grandchildren with all her heart; she cherished each moment spent with them, creating a bond that would last through generations. She is survived by her grandchildren: Eric (Patty) Jaquillard, along with many other great and great-great-grandchildren, including Jasmine Jaquillard, Halie Jaquillard, Jared Jaquillard, Katie (Chadwick II) Harbson, Seth Jaquillard, Brandon Hurst, Victoria Florez, Diana (Albert) Florez, Raymond Farard, and Bethany Black. Each of them carries a piece of her legacy and will remember her as a beacon of love in their lives.

Elaine's proudest accomplishments included the building of her home, a foundation where countless memories were made, and the loving guidance she provided in raising her family. She dedicated her life to fostering an environment filled with laughter, love, and nurturing support.

Elaine is preceded in death by beloved mother and father,  her devoted husband, Donald G. Emmel, whose memory she held dear. Together, they created a family bound by love and rich with shared stories, joys, and the occasional heartache, each experience woven into the fabric of their lives.

As we remember Elaine Iola Emmel, let us celebrate her vibrant spirit, her unwavering affection for her family, and the countless lives she impacted with her kindness and grace. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
