Eddie Mae Maddox, of Toledo, Ohio and a cherished matriarch and beloved member of her community, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 99 at Spring Meadows at Villa. Born to Archie Mae and Eddie Fielder on June 9, 1926, in Camp Hill, Alabama, Eddie Mae beautifully navigated a life filled with love, faith, and family.

Eddie Mae’s legacy is steeped in family values, having married Jessie Maddox Sr., with whom she raised six children: Levon Maddox, Orlando (Christine) Maddox, Wanda Maddox, Willie Frank Maddox, Jessie Lee Maddox Jr, and Janice Maddox. She found immense joy in watching her family grow, including a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were sources of pride and happiness throughout her life.

A woman of deep faith, Eddie Mae accepted God at an early age and maintained a strong bond with her spiritual community as a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church. Her love for the Lord shaped her character and guided her through life's many challenges and triumphs.

Eddie Mae took great pleasure in a variety of hobbies. She was a gifted at sewing and expressed her creativity through beautifully garments, and she had a passion for singing that uplifted those around her. Additionally, her baking brought delight to family gatherings, making special occasions even more memorable.

She is now reunited with her son, Levon Maddox, and her seven siblings, along with her parents, who preceded her in death. The impact of her nurturing spirit will be forever felt by her family and friends.

Visitation for Eddie Mae Maddox will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH. A graveside service will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.

Eddie Mae Maddox will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who lived her life with kindness, grace, and unwavering faith. Her presence will be sorely missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
