Dr. Eun Jung Kucway

Dr. Eun Jung Kucway, a dedicated physician and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at her home on November 20, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on January 6, 1970, in Seoul, South Korea, she immigrated to the United States in 1985, where she built a life marked by profound significance and unwavering service to others.

Dr. Kucway was renowned for her warm charisma and compassionate nature, which she exemplified throughout her career as a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. With her strong will and gentle spirit, she fostered a supportive environment for her patients and colleagues alike. Her commitment to helping others extended well beyond her professional life; she was deeply loved by many friends and maintained a robust support network that uplifted her during her courageous battle with cancer. Notably, her exemplary work earned her an award recognizing excellence in her field, a testament to her dedication and skill.

On June 21, 1997, Eun Jung married Roger Kucway, and together they were blessed with three children: Kayla, Kyle, and Kara Kucway. Family was the focal point of Eun Jung's life, and she took immense pride in raising her children to be strong and independent individuals, a significant accomplishment that brought her great joy. Roger often reminded her of her beauty—a sentiment shared by all who had the privilege of knowing her especially by her kids who knew she was a beautiful and strong woman.

Eun Jung had an adventurous spirit and loved the vibrant city of Chicago. She found delight in nature, often taking long walks of five to six miles each day. Shopping brought her joy, especially when she could find a good deal. Her vibrant, joyful, and independent nature made her a natural leader among her peers.

A devout Christian, Dr. Kucway lived out her faith, dedicating herself to the growth and exploration of her beliefs. She was driven by a desire to leave a positive impact on the lives of those around her.

In addition to her husband Roger and their children Kayla, Kyle, and Kara, Dr. Kucway is survived by her mother, Young Sook Kwan, and her brothers, Chul Ok (Seongrim) Park and Chul Woo (Seon) Park. She was preceded in death by her father, Seng Ki Park.

Eun Jung's love for experiences extended to her fondness for Disney World, where the music and magic of the park brought her joy and adventure.

Visitation services for Dr. Kucway will be held on November 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3655 King Rd, Toledo, OH. A second visitation will take place on December 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, located at 2649 US-20, Swanton, OH.
