Douglas "Doug" H. Farthing

Douglas H. "Doug" Farthing, age 67, of Toledo, passed away peacefully April 10, 2026 at home. He was born November 13, 1958 in Toledo to Rodney and Dolores (Tolles) Farthing. He worked for Medusa Stone Quarry operating the large machines at the quarry. Doug was very proud of his roofing skills, having helped in Florida re-roofing homes after a major hurricane. He was also very proud of being the roofer on the first 600 homes in the Waterside Community. Doug enjoyed motorcycles especially his Harley Davidson's and cheering on his Raiders. He was also an avid old car enthusiast. Doug loved driving his 64 Nova and 87 Corvette and going to car shows. Another major accomplishment in Doug's life was canoeing across 10 mile crick all on his own during the flood on the golf course.

In addition to his parents, Doug was also preceded in death by his brothers, Richard "Rick" and Gary Farthing; step-nephew, Gabriel Herrera and his canine companion, "Ivan." He is survived by his loving wife, Diana C. Spalding; brother, Rodney (Brunilda Roman) Farthing, Jr., sister-in-law, Sandy Farthing and step-children, Carolyn and William and Kim (Hancock) Spalding; nieces and nephews, Elisabeth Farthing, Rodney Farthing III, Kevin Farthing, Erica (Michael) Farthing Diskin, Craig (Andrea) Duhaime, Jon (Nicole) Farthing, Joshua (Alanna) Farthing; great-nephews, Zack, Reid and Asher Farthing; step nieces and nephews, Todd (Ashley) Cousino, Stephanie Martinez, Melanie (Jeremy) Getz, Annette Herrera and Jayden Herrera.

On Memorial Day, May 25, 2026 Doug's ashes will be scattered. For information regarding Doug's Celebration of Life please contact his wife, Diana.
