Douglas E. Beehler, 86, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away July 5, 2026 in his home surrounded by his Ohana. Doug left his legacy through the art of dance. He was the founder of D & D Dance Studio, choreographing for many area high schools throughout his career and retiring from Dancinkidz Dance Studio in 2010. His joy for people, dancing, the arts, Broadway, and Disney continues to to be seen through those lives he was a part of during his dancing career. He also served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Doug was a pillar in the community and in the lives of his family, by whom he will be deeply missed. Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, he is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, “Dammit” Diane; children, Debbie (Brian) Hannold, Doug (Cindy) Beehler, Lori (Jeff) Sodd, Tim (Jennie) Beehler; grandchildren, Cary Schumann and Maddy Hannold, Lauren (John) Johnson, and Logan (Haley) Beehler, Amber (Matt) Knaggs, Scottie Tucker, Olivia Sodd, and Jacob Sodd, Rachel Beehler, and Matthew (Erin) Beehler; great-grandchildren, Wells and Oliver Johnson, Lucy, Tucker, and Lola Knaggs, Andrea Beehler, and Cooper Beehler; As well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Pauline Beehler, in-laws, John and Lola Timmers, sister, Wanda Krupp, daughter, Baby Beehler, brother in-law, Tim Timmers, grandson, Andrew Beehler, and his beloved pets, Capezio and Emma.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00pm, Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3655 King Rd. Toledo, OH 43617. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 24, at 11:00am, at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr Street Toledo, OH, 43615 where he will lie in state after 10:00am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
