Doug Puls

Douglas J. "Doug" Puls, 65, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home on September 15, 2026. Born on August 30, 1961, Doug was known for his generous spirit, strong work ethic, and great sense of humor.

Doug dedicated over 20 years of hard work to Crestline Paving and Excavating. He began his career as a laborer and earned his way up to foreman, a role in which he was deeply respected by his peers and project owners for his exceptional quality of work and sharp attention to detail. Outside of work, Doug was an avid automotive enthusiast. He poured his time and talent into rebuilding classic cars and was a familiar, friendly face at local car shows. Known as a friend to everyone he met, Doug lived his life with an open heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his father, Duke Puls; his twin brother, Bruce Puls; his brother, Scott Puls; and his beloved cat, CeeCee.

Doug's memory will be carried on by his loving wife, Barbara James-Puls; his mother, Bonnie Sandman; and his brothers, Gregory Puls and Anthony Puls, along with an extended family of friends and former coworkers who will miss him dearly.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Gathering on Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo, Ohio.
