Dosia M. Rowe

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Dosia Maye Rowe, age 78 of Napoleon Ohio. Dosia was welcomed into her heavenly home on Friday March 27, 2026; she was surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

Born on July 10, 1947 in Paolia, Indiana to Denver and Theodosia (Jones) Knapp. On August 24, 1967 she married Herman Rowe and together they built a home for their five children. He preceded her in death.

As a devoted single mother, Dosia exhibited great determination, independence and strength as she provided for her children. She attended Kellogg Community College, working towards a degree in Business Administration and then worked as an office manager and dispatcher for many years. Later in life she changed career paths and graduated from Northwest State Community College with a certificate in practical nursing. After passing the state licensing test she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at NorthCrest Rehab & Nursing Center, Fulton Manor Nursing & Rehab Center and retired from Fulton County Health Center in 2015.

Dosia appreciated the summer and fall months when she could relax on her patio visiting with family, watching nature and enjoying her beautiful flowers. Family was the center of her world and she savored the time spent with her loved ones and her furbabies. She will be remembered as a compassionate and loving person who touched the hearts of many.

She is survived by her children, Effie (Ken) Grubbs, Lisa (Dave) Lotz, Sharon (Dave) Roth, Vicki Swearingen and Randall Rowe; nine grandchildren, Kristin Davis-Johnson, Michelle Roth, Chelsea (Christa) Lotz, Katie (Tyler) Blesch, Emily Grubbs, Nicole Swearingen, Jennifer Grubbs, Lindsay Lotz and Ashley Lotz; 15 great-grandchildren, Audri, June, Tate, Amiya, Noah, Cooper, Alianna, Paislee, Logan, Ryan, Mackenzie, Hudson, Brooks, Shay and Cameron; two sisters, Betty Mulkey, Tina (William) Stump and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and a grandson, Zachary David Roth.

Cremation has taken place. Per Dosia’s wishes, there will not be a formal service.
