Dorothy Christine Morse

Our loving Mom/Gran, Dorothy Christine (Moses) Morse passed to a new adventure on April 3, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio. She was born and educated in Jackson, MI, the tenth child of the late Gertrude and Cleo Moses. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her nine siblings, a treasured grandson Drew Ryland Morse, and her loving husband of 72 years Ray Morse.

Dorothy helped her husband establish Lawn Services of Huntington, Inc and worked in the business for many years. She was proud of her adopted state “Wild, Wonderful West Virginia” and was a volunteer in schools and sports activities and a 15-year volunteer at Ronald McDonald House. She was a painter, a poet, an avid reader and traveler visiting 33 states and 19 countries.

Left to cherish her memory are three much loved children and in-law children – Carol Rae and Jim Wilson, Douglas Ray and Carrie Morse, and Donald Brian and Arlene Morse. She felt blessed to enjoy four grandchildren – Christine “Shell” and Bill Semler, “Laura G” and Matt Ulrich, Marissa Erin and Jeremy Brennan, and Aaron Philip and Devin Morse and two additional grandchildren thru marriage- Zane and Karen Wyrick and Jennifer and Steve Spurgeon and their families.

Dorothy shared her heart with five great grandchildren she knew well and loved – Megan (Tyler) Girt, Allison (Nick) Strakhov, Sara (Alec) Bukowski, Bryce (Brittany) Ulrich and Denver Raye Morse. Her love and family grew even more with six great, great grandchildren – Rett, Evy and Beckett Strakhov, Skylar Rae Bukowski, Aurora Michelle Girt and Monroe Dorothy Diane Ulrich. Her many nieces and nephews were also very special to her.

Dorothy will be lovingly missed by all who knew her.

She will be laid to rest with a private service in her hometown of Huntington, W.Va.
