Dorothy “Dottie” Christie Keween, 81, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025. Born on May 12, 1944, in Toledo, she spent the majority of her life in the city she loved and called home.
Dottie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Keween to whom she was happily married for 53 years, and her great grandson. She is survived by her three children, Christie, Karen, and Joe and was the proud grandmother of five and great-grandmother of three.
For over 40 years, Dottie worked as a dedicated lunch lady, serving generations of students with kindness, warmth, and a sprinkle of sarcasm. She was known for her sarcastic sense of humor and her dedicated crocheting of blankets for those in need. When she wasn’t crocheting and making others laugh, she was composing personalized songs for her grandchildren.
Her final years were lived out in Bowling Green, where the highlight of her day was going to the senior center, and making new friends. Her fun and infectious personality will be greatly missed.
Services for Dottie will be private. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family kindly asks that you consider giving blood in Dottie’s memory.
