Doris Ann Brown Young, the wife of Gilbert W. Young and mother to Melanie Mallett, Melinda Mallett, Edward Mallett, and Gilbert W. Young IV (Sherry), died November 23, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She is predeceased in death by her daughter Shau'nea M. Thomas, mother Dorothy Mallett, brother James C. Mallett, and mother-in-law Edmonia Huntley.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sisters Shirley Baccus (Kenneth) & Lorraine Mallett, brother Cardell Mallett (Latasha), grandsons James M. Mallett, Aaron Nicholson, & Davonte' Nicholson, granddaughters Mercades Nicholson & Victoria Young, and a host of great grandchildren, family and friends.
Doris was very wise, honest, and direct. She was very generous and was the one person that you could always depend upon. She appreciated simplicity, nothing drawn out or unnecessarily complicated. She loved God and her family. She will be missed.
