Donovan Anthony Perry, affectionately known as Danny, 70, Toledo, OH, made his transition from this life on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born May 14, 1955, in Montego Bay, Jamaica to Norma Rose Lewis and Rudolph Perry.
Danny loved the Lord. When he moved to Toledo in 1996, he became a member at Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board for 15 years. In 2021 he joined The Body of Christ Fellowship, where he enjoyed praise and worship and the Word that his pastor, Shaiem Hampton, preached.
While living in Jamaica, Danny worked in real estate and he helped his mother run her restaurant, called China Doll. When he moved to Toledo he worked in retail until he was no longer able to work.
Danny never met a stranger. He loved to socialize and talk about his culture that he was very passionate about. Anyone who knew Danny knew that he was going to talk about Bob Marley, Queen Elizabeth, the Prime Minister, the Beauty Queen (Ms. Jamaica), and Jamaican politics.
Danny’s favorite scripture was Psalms 27:1 and his favorite song, that he listened to every Sunday morning, was My Help by Donnie McClurkin. He even listened to it and worshipped before he took his last breath.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Rose Lewis, his father, Rudolph Perry, his grandmother, Daisy Willacey, his brothers John Perry and Thomas Perry.
He is survived by his father, Basil (Ruby) Chong, his brothers, David (Robin) Chong, Paul (Marquita) Chong, Robert (Marie) Perry, Seswick (Terry) Perry, his sisters, Pamela Smith, Joyce Perry, Yasmine Perry, Karen (Eric) Perry Weir and a host of, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
