Donna Jean Snell Heer

Donna Jean Heer, a beloved figure who graced the lives of many, was born on January 18, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio. She departed from this world on June 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unwavering dedication to her family.

A proud graduate of Sylvania High School, Donna built a career that reflected her kind-hearted nature. She served as a cashier at Topps Department Store before showcasing her culinary talents as part of Rosie's kitchen staff. Ultimately, she took on the role of Kitchen Manager at Fiddlesticks Day Care, where her warm personality and nurturing spirit touched the lives of children and their families alike.

Donna was known for her funny, quick-witted demeanor and a laugh that could brighten anyone's day. Her loyalty and dedication shone through not only in her work but also in her cherished role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—her proudest accomplishments. Many memories were made at Sunny’s campground, where she loved to spend time, reveling in the joy of family gatherings amidst nature’s beauty.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Edward M Heer Jr., her son Scott E Heer and his wife Dawn Heer, and her daughter Robin Henning and her husband Michael. Donna's love extended to her grandchildren: Taylor Heer and her fiancé Stanley Ha, Scott Edward Heer II, Cassidy Chambers and her husband Dylan, Ashley Henning and her fiancé Chris Watts, Caitlyn Henning, and Cole Henning. Her heart swelled with pride at the sight of her great-grandchildren, Penelope Dawn Heer-Ha and Julian Chambers.

Her family will forever remember the warmth and kindness she brought into their lives, as well as her exceptional cooking, especially her famous bread-pudding, which was a staple at family gatherings.

Though Donna's parents, John and Helen Snell, and her brothers, William and Robert Snell, predeceased her, their spirits live on in the stories she shared and the family traditions she cherished.

A visitation in honour of Donna will be held on June 30, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who touched so many with her vibrant spirit.

Donna Jean Heer will be deeply missed, but the love she spread will forever continue to blossom in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
