Donna Mae Bloom

Donna (Eyre) Bloom stepped into her eternal home on February 28, 2026. Born Donna Mae Eyre on March 4, 1932 to Irene Alice (Rawlings) and Edwin Harold Eyre, she married the love of her life Howard Bloom on September 30, 1950 in Lagrange, Indiana. 

Together they created a loving home and raised a beautiful family. In addition to spending time with her family, Donna enjoyed fishing and was a longtime member of the former Merickel-Farley Trout Club. She also delighted in researching genealogy and gathering stories of past generations. One of her favorite pastimes was crocheting; many new mothers have been blessed by the baby blankets she created. Donna also worked for Springfield Local Schools as a cook for many years.

 Donna is survived by her children Larry (Mary Jo) Bloom, Debra (Larry) Blockowski, Richard (Janet) Bloom of Toledo, Todd (Shelly) Bloom, and Wendy Foor, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, son Terry, parents Edwin and Irene Eyre, her sisters Joan Rooks, Jane Grabowski, Edwina Eyre, her brothers Edwin Eyre, Jr., and Ray Eyre. 

Her gentle welcoming heart, beautiful smile, and bright spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered as a loving and kind wife, mother, aunt, sister, and friend.
