Donald Henry Kolinski, affectionately known as Don, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, at the age of 75 in Erie, Michigan. Born on August 2, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio, Don was a dedicated family man and a respected member of his community.

After 36 years of loyal service, Don retired from Libbey Glass Company, where he was well-regarded for his work ethic and commitment. His life was defined by a spirit of quiet resilience and an unwavering dedication to his family and friends.

Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, embodying the values of honor and duty that shaped his character. He brought this same sense of commitment into his home life, where his peaceful demeanor made him a beloved presence among loved ones.

In his free time, Don cherished the joy of being with his family, particularly enjoying memorable road trips with his wife, Barbara, and their grandchildren. The warmth of these adventures created lasting memories that will forever be treasured by those he loved. Don had a passion for boating on Lake Erie, a hobby that not only provided enjoyment but also became a bonding experience with his family.

Beyond his hobbies, Don was a man of many talents, known for his capability in working with his hands. Whether it was a project around the house or something in his workshop, there was little he could not accomplish. His skills and calm approach to life provided a sense of security and inspiration to those around him.

Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Kolinski, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage; their son Donald Kolinski and his wife Tiffany; cherished grandchildren Skyler, Jadin, Alyssa, Berlyn, and great-grandchildren Gatlin Sarver and an expected great-granddaughter next month. He is also remembered by his brothers Richard Kolinski and his wife Katie, Gary Kolinski, and Kenny Kolinski and his wife Debbie, as well as his sister Julie Kurth and her husband Dan.

Don will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, family devotion, and kind spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jennifer Kolinski, who passed away in 2017, and his sister, Kathy Eckhart.

Per Donald's wishes, there will be a private family celebration of his life.
