Diana “Dee” Wallace, 73, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on October 7, 2026, at Toledo Hospital after a brief illness.
Born on December 10, 1952, Diana was a woman with a strong spirit, a quick wit, and a personality that was impossible to forget. Those who knew Dee would undoubtedly describe her as stubborn and sassy, but those qualities were part of what made her so uniquely herself. She loved fiercely, spoke her mind, and lived life in her own way.
Dee found joy in the simple things, especially candle making and spending time on social media, where she enjoyed staying connected, sharing her thoughts, and keeping up with the people and things she cared about. She had a creative side and a spark that could light up a room, or as her family might say, occasionally set the room on fire.
Above all else, Dee was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family was an important part of her life, and she leaves behind a large family who will carry her memory and her stories with them.
Diana is survived by her three daughters, Tracy Nagy (David), Tina Todd (Justin), and Tiffany Mrkva (Joseph).
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Richard Hendricks (Danielle) and their daughters Kaylynn, Elizabeth, and Gabriella; Kayla Hendricksand her children Cooper Navin, Lincoln Navin, and Reagan Navin; Nicole Stull (Nick) and their children Mackenzie and Easton; Madison Todd; Ezekiel Todd; Caden Mrkva; Talyn Mrkva; and Tristen Mrkva.
She is survived by her siblings, Sue Sundquist (Mark Sr.) and William Scott Jr. (Diana).
Her extended family includes her nephew Mark Jr. Sundquist (Connie) and their children Laci and Dylan; her niece Mindy Schumacker (Mike) and her stepchildren Morgan and Tyler; her niece Sarah; nephews BJ Whitenburg and Tony Whitenburg; and niece Angie Whitenburg.
Dee is also survived by her beloved best friend, Sharon Conry, whose friendship, love, and companionship were an important part of her life.
Diana was preceded in death by her daughter, Tami Whaley; her mother, Helen Scott; her father, William Scott Sr.; her sister, Debi Whitenburg; and her brother-in-law, Robert Whitenburg.
Dee’s absence will be felt in countless ways, in the conversations that won’t happen, the family gatherings where her voice will be missed, the stories that will be told about her, and in all the little reminders of the woman she was.
She may have been stubborn. She may have been sassy. She may have had a way of doing things that was entirely her own. But she was Dee, and there will never be another one quite like her.
Her family will remember her not only for the difficult moments at the end of her life, but for the years, memories, laughter, arguments, love, and countless moments that made her their Diana.
A memorial service celebrating Diana’s life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at VFW Post 1136, 633 Ford Avenue, Wyandotte, Michigan.
Family and friends are invited to gather together to remember Dee, share stories, laugh, cry, and celebrate the life of a woman who left her mark on everyone who knew her.
