With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis Edward Kujawa, age 77, of Rossford, Ohio, who died suddenly on October 13, 2025. Born in Toledo in May of 1948, he was the son of Joseph and Irene (Burzynski) Kujawa.
Dennis spent his formative years in the Polish neighborhood of the Nebraska and Junction area in Toledo. He received his education at St. Anthony Grade School and graduated from Macomber Vocational, where he studied cabinet making. He furthered his education at the University of Toledo, and he successfully completed an apprenticeship with General Motors as a tool and die maker. Dennis dedicated over 30 years of his career to the plant on Alexis Rd. and was a proud member of the UAW.
In high school, Dennis met Shirley Kreft, who would become his loving wife. Their enduring romance spanned 60 years, culminating in 53 wonderful years of marriage after their wedding in 1972. A gentle and humble soul, Dennis was a devoted family man who cherished every moment with his loved ones. He took enormous pride in coaching his sons in baseball and Rossford Soccer, deeply valuing the time spent watching them grow.
A lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns, Guardians, and Cavaliers, Dennis always maintained hope for a successful season. He often remarked that grandparenting brought him boundless joy, and he relished the countless moments shared with his grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; his sons, Andrew (Jamee), Steven, and Gregory (Emily Rice); and his cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Jaxson, Lucas, Camden, and Jesse Ann. He is also remembered by his sister, Donna Schmidt; nephew, Jeff (Holly) Orlowski; niece, Lisa (Ken) McIntyre; and his dear friend and neighbor of 50 years, Jim Loo.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Dennis will be organized at a later date, where we will gather to remember and celebrate the remarkable man he was.
