Dennis Paul Duncan, age 78, passed away on August 19, 2026, at the University of Toledo Medical Center after a short illness. Dennis was born in Toledo, Ohio, to parents, Bill and Dorothy Duncan. He attended Nathan Hale, DeVilbiss High School (Class of ’66), and held two degrees from the University of Toledo.

Dennis followed in his father’s footsteps as a carpenter and worked 30+ years for various contractors, retiring in 2001 after an industrial accident. After retiring, he took a part-time position as a gallery guard at the Toledo Museum of Art which he thoroughly enjoyed, and retired from there in 2016.

Dennis loved to tend to his flowers, cook, play Trivial Pursuit, was a magazine aficionado and loved history. He watched the History Channel and anything WW II because someone might have a different take on it one day.

Dennis also loved his family and is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vicki, daughter, Megan (John), the love of his life granddaughter, Harper Mae, and his buddy and faithful cat, Larry. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Rose Stephenson, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends and family, Judy Carnival, Mark and Melinda Walczak, Mary Drogmiller and Don and Judi Rogers.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Vicki’s parents, sisters-in-law, Sharon Callahan and Donna Spurgeon, brothers-in-law, Chuck Callahan, Randy Stephenson, David Stephenson and Don Spurgeon, and special friend, Norm Drogmiller.

The family would like to thank the MICU Team at UTMC for their wonderful care of not only Dennis but also Vicki and Megan, and especially Katie Jesse, Dr. David Allen, Dr. Branavan Ragunanthan and his wonderful nurses, Kelly, Landon, Tashe and Coral, along with Beth of the Palliative Care Team.
