Delores L. Smith-Warren

Delores Louis Smith-Warren, age 88, of Toledo, passed away November 21, 2024. She was born on July 29, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to Julius Davis and Dorothy McKnight.

Delores attended Jessup W. Scott High School in Toledo and received an associates degree in Food Services from the University of Toledo. She held several jobs in the food service industry as well as providing caregiver and nursing aide services to the community.

Delores has an infectious smile that would light up the room and a wonderful sense of humor. She provided a great upbringing as a single parent to her five handsome sons, her pride and joy.

Delores was known for her strong will, determination, and love for her family, whom she enjoyed spending time with.

Delores overcame many obstacles and challenges in her life having been a 40+ year Breast Cancer Survivor.

As a woman of faith, Delores served as a “Daughter of the King” at the All Saints Episcopal Church where she was a member for over 50 years. Although Delores is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.

Delores is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, her husband, Chester Warren; her loving sister, Lucille Broom; granddaughter, Lawnette Joyner and grandson, Joseph Smith.

She is survived by her five handsome sons, Opree Joyner (Franceen), Arpree Joyner (Christina Lisa), Clayton Smith, Jesse Smith, and Tracey Smith; brothers, Bernard Davis and Robert Davis; sister, Robin; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, Ohio, 43614 on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Funeral services to honor and celebrate Delores will be held at 12:00 pm.
