We are sad to announce the unexpected passing of David Gomer, of Toledo. He passed away on December 2, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion. He was a longtime resident and business owner in the Arlington community.
Born on September 18, 1956, to Edward A. and Mary J. E. (Tucker) Gomer in Toledo, David's dedication to his community was evident through his business endeavors and his volunteer work for animal welfare. He had a boundless love for dogs, especially his own beloved dogs. He once took in a seriously injured dog, who became a cherished and loyal companion. David had a passion for animals, cars, family, and his community. He owned his business, Dave's Auto Service, for 41 years. He was a dedicated uncle to many nieces and nephews.
David's family will hold dear the memories of the many warm gatherings he hosted. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Gwyn Mares, Steve, Thomas, Donald (Lisa), Sandra (Norbert) Kirian, Kathy (Michael) Stengle, William, and Christopher (Jenny), and many nieces and nephews.
David now rests in peace, reunited with his parents, Edward and Mary, as well as his infant twin sisters, Barbara Jean and Catherine Sue, his brother Joseph, and his nieces Jessica and Michelle.
To honor David's memory, the family invites friends and loved ones to pay their respects and share in remembrance on Friday, December 15th at 1:00pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd Toledo, OH 43614.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center. They provided care to David's beloved pets, and their work reflects his commitment to animal welfare.
David will be missed, but his spirit of compassion and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
