Darold E. Forbes, Sr.

Darold E. Forbes, Sr., age 63, of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at his home. He was born on December 7, 1960 to Walter and Frances (Spadafore) Forbes in Marion, OH. Darold graduated in 1978 from Waite High School. He worked for Newfax as a service technician for over 40 years until his passing. Darold was a longtime member of Servants Heart Christian Church, where he served as an assistant Pastor. He was very involved with church, church activities, loved the Lord and strong in his faith. Darold was a die-hard fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Michigan Wolverines. He enjoyed researching ancestry and all that it involved. Darold had a heart of gold, and was generous to a fault. He was the most giving person one could meet and would help anyone in need. His family was his greatest passion, especially his children and grandchildren. Darold's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Roxanne Forbes; infant son, Darold E. Forbes, Jr.; siblings, Jeff Forbes, John Boyd, Hermina Forbes, and Wally Leroy Forbes, Jr.; mother-in-law, Edith "Susie" Rising; father-in-law, Robert R. Rising; and niece, Torina Campbell.

Left to cherish Darold's memory are his loving children, Tiffany Forbes and Dustin Forbes; grandchildren, Michael Forbes and Myles Forbes; siblings, Joe Boyd and Michelle (Jim) Long; sisters-in-law, Tina (James) Callaway and Debbie Forbes; special nieces, Diana "DeDe" Campbell and Ella Campbell; spiritual father, Bishop G. Frank (Margaret) Sherman; church friends who were extended family, Jackie Curry, Asia (Tommie) Watkins; and their children, Tomia and T.J. Watkins; Ashley Alexander, "Sweet" Tammie Watkins, Tomika Watkins; and many other nieces, nephews, close church and family members, and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Servants Heart Christian Church, 702 Stebbins St., Toledo, OH 43609 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in church.
