Dan "Dan The Man" May

Dan May was born on March 23, 1953, and departed this life on April 19, 2026. He lived a life marked by resilience, love for family, and a presence that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Dan was a man who valued connection. He had a way of bringing people together, whether through conversation, laughter, or simply being present. His spirit was one that could light up a room, and his memory will forever be carried in the hearts of those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Williey Ozie Harper, and his mother, Mary Jane Whitaker, along with a host of siblings. Dan leaves to cherish his precious memories his siblings: Deborah Ann, Faye, and Jeff; his beloved daughter, Angel Wilson, and son, Chris May; along with his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride. He also leaves behind his adoptive children: Ronata, Diana, and Alfred, who held a special place in his heart. Dan’s love extended beyond blood—he embraced those he cared for as family, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love.In addition to those named, Dan leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever remember his life, his presence, and the impact he made. 

Family and friends will be received at the United Vision Baptist Church. 821 E. Manhattan Blvd., Toledo on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 6:00-7:00 PM.  Funeral services will begin immediately following visitation at 7:00 PM.   

Though he has transitioned from this life, his legacy of love, strength, and connection will continue to live on through all who knew him.
