Dale Anthony Jackson, 67, was born on October 6, 1959 in Toledo, OH. He departed this life on October 21, 2026 to enter eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished family memories.
Born into a devoted family, Dale was the beloved son of the late Edwin Donald Jackson and Sylvia Henrietta Jackson. He was baptized and attended elementary school at St. Phillip Lutheran Church, where he was raised with strong values of family, community, and service. He was astute to global affairs, and grounded in the legacy of his family history. A graduate of Jesup W. Scott High School, he continued to enroll and graduate from the City of Toledo’s Police Academy and served the department for 15 years. His personable and lovable demeanor was engaging and magnetic which also informed his leadership during employment at Kohl’s retailer for another 15+ years.
Dale was a cherished grandfather, father, son, colleague, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He brought warmth, humor, and quiet strength to those around him, maintaining a quiet resilience and deep love for his family. He loved many things, such as his beloved cats, especially Jasmine, camping trip weekends, good food, bonfires, visiting landmarks, invaluable bonds with loved ones, especially his grandchildren, and spending special time with his friends. Dale enjoyed an active life. He played neighborhood softball, enjoyed cross-country running, and played hacky sack. In later years, he enjoyed endless bike rides and fishing with friends on Lake Erie. He was a huge sports fan! He especially loved baseball and football attending professional sports games. He was a loyal fan to the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Browns (despite some years of disappointment- still Go Browns!). Music was Dale’s greatest passion. His remarkable knowledge of musicians, bands, and songs went far beyond rock, spanning from the 1930s to the present. Every Sunday, you could count on hearing “Breakfast With The Beatles” playing at his place. Music was a subject he truly mastered.
Dale was preceded in eternal life by his loving parents, Edwin and Sylvia Jackson; and his loving life partner, Renee. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, Step-Daughter, Chelsea (Simeon) Chelliah; Grandchildren Gideon, Evelyn and Oliver; Brother: Edwin Roger Jackson; Sisters: Margaret (Peggy) Allen, Priscilla (Winston) Jackson-Callue (Atlanta, GA), and Sylvia L. Jackson (Dallas, GA); Extended family and loved ones such as, special cousin Tim Huntley, and special family Rev. Dr. Chris and Cindy McCormick, a host of loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and the dearest brotherhood of lifelong friends.
"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." — St. John 11:25-26
