Crystal I. Swain, 59, a longtime resident of Toledo Ohio although her roots were from her parents' small town Talladega Alabama. Crystal, born September 18, 1964, was the baby girl of David and Claudia Swain and she was spoiled rotten by them both. Crystal passed away peacefully Wednesday November 15, 2023 at Mercy Perrysburg Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

As a young child Crystal accepted Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost at Bibleway Temple church. Crystal affectionately known as Chris, later joined St. James Holiness Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the Powerful Anointed Bishop William Morgan James Sr. She sang soprano in the choir, was an Intercessory Prayer Warrior, and Hosted Sunday dinner every week. Chris loved to throw down in the kitchen. Her famous recipes being mac and cheese, chicken divine, and Shrimp chicken steak and rice will live on through her family.

Crystal was a graduate of Scott High School, "Once a Bulldog always a Bulldog." After high school Crystal went to Toledo Academy of beauty graduating with her Cosmetology License. Miss Chris (one of the First Black Hair instructors) to her students, was one of the best to have ever done hair!!! Crystal could lay some fingerwaves, wrap a frenchroll, and slay a sculptured ponytail. Miss Chris was inspiring, motivating, prayerful and uplifting, Her students state she always had a bright smile on her face.

Crystal loved to shop with her sisters, scratch her lottery tickets, watch her gameshows, and she enjoyed helping all who needed it. Crystal taught her family and friends how to live traveling to Alabama frequently, hosting parties and holidays, and running the table in Spades. Crystal never complained, She left a Legacy of love, happiness, strength, kindness, and she will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents Crystal was also preceded in death by her brother, David Swain Jr, sister Kathy Swain-Anderson. Crystal leaves to mourn daughter Tracie E. Brown, son TreMon D. Brown, and her baby girl Tiffany Marie Coleman; honorary daughter Latalha T. Bryant; Grandson Travionne D. Ragland; God children Late'jiana (her LayLay) Coley, Jaona Garland, and Leetavionne Smith; siblings Edward Swain, Frankie (Sonna) Swain, Anthony Swain, Gertha Swain, Diane Swain, and Sharon Swain. Special Cousin Patrick Porter (his Chris Kringle) a host of of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and her students and friends

Special Acknowledgement to her long time caregivers Tiffany Coleman (her loving daughter) and nephew Alfaygo Swain.

The Family will receive guests to Celebrate and Honor her life Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 10:00 am til 11:00 am Newcomer-SW Chapel, 4752 HeathersdownBlvd, Funeral services immediately following at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
