Corey Ray Johnson Sr., 49, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2026. He was born on February 1, 1977, in Toledo, Ohio, to MaryAnn Johnson and the late Leroy Johnson, Sr.
Corey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. He cherished time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Julie; his children, Corey Ray Johnson Jr. (Stephanie), Ciara (Kaelyn), and Alissa. Corey was a proud grandfather to Isabella, Lily, Geno, Sophia, Carlo, and DJ, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his sisters Kim (Spencer), Dana, Vicki (Bernard), and Lorie (John); brothers James (Brandy) and Leroy Jr.; and sister-in-law, Diane. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Johnson Sr.; his brother, Dale; and his sister-in-law, Cindy.
Corey was self-employed in the construction industry for more than 30 years, specializing in siding, windows, doors, and home improvement projects. He took great pride in his work and especially loved working alongside his family, including his father, brother, and son. The skills he passed on and the time they shared together on the job were among his most treasured memories.
Corey enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the love of his life, Julie, participating in pool leagues at Daffy's Bar, playing video games, and cheering for his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers. He found happiness in life's simple moments, especially those spent surrounded by the people he loved. He also shared his home and heart with his five beloved dogs.
Corey will be remembered for his sense of humor and jokes, his sharp shoes and sense of style, his loyalty to those he loved, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
