Christopher L. Hester, known affectionately as "Budda," passed away on September 22, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 51. Born on September 17, 1974, in Medina, Ohio, Christopher's life was marked by his quiet compassion, generosity, and love for his family and friends.
Christopher was a proud graduate of Whitmer High School, class of 1993, and continued his education at Owen's Community College. He dedicated himself to his work, starting his career at Simon Property Group as a maintenance worker at North Towne Square and Woodville Malls. He later went on to serve at BFI, eventually retiring as a cook at Nick & Jimmy's. His colleagues and patrons alike appreciated his reliability and kindness throughout his various roles.
A devoted sports enthusiast, Christopher cherished watching college football on Saturdays and Sundays and could often be found tuning into any sport available on television. He also enjoyed golf outings with his father and friends, moments that brought him great joy and connection.
Christopher had a personality that reflected a unique blend of quiet strength and caring generosity. He was someone who preferred to stay to himself but was always there for those who needed him and offered his love to those around him.
Christopher will be deeply missed by his mother, Mona; uncles Vance (Helen) Hester and Robert Haight; and cousins Ryan and Randy Haight, as well as Shannon McVicker. He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Hester.
Visitation services will be held on October 3, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623.
The impact Christopher made on the lives of those who knew him will never be forgotten, and he will always hold a special place in their hearts. His memory will continue to inspire warmth and love among family and friends for years to come.
