Christine Bibish

Christine Clara Bibish departed this world to her eternal reward on May 20, 2025. “Tinni” was married to John in 1946 till his death in 2003. She was born November 25, 1926, the daughter of Stephan and Mary (Grayjczyk) Kaptur. She is more than likely the oldest and last original Pole living in Saint Stanislaus.

Her Roman Catholic faith was always an extraordinarily strong element for her entire life. Her commitment to Saint Stanislaus was very strong until its closure, engaging in many activities on a regular and recurring basis.

Another highlight for her was her involvement in the lives of all her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John; sisters, Gertrude, Virginia, Jeanette, and Lilian; and her cousins, Dorathy Bowen, Benny, Lindy, and Ed Rogala.

Those who mourn her death include her sons, John and his wife Sheryl, Thomas and his wife Sue; her grandchildren, John, Katie, Daniel and Christa; and her great grandchildren, John and Maria’s John V and Ella Grace, Daniel and Gwynne’s Adele, and Christa and Steve’s Owen and Evan.

Christine’s life was a life in full.

Among her cousins there is Marcy Kaptur who over the years with her late brother Steve was an important part of her life. She was also very close to Dorathy Bowen.

It would be remis to not acknowledge her daughter-in-law Susan, who over the years was a pillar of strength for Christine, making her life easier. Christine called Susan quite rightly her “Angel in Blue jeans.”

It would be inappropriate at this time not to mention a neighbor of Christine’s, Ike Lewis. Ike over the years was invaluable for his many services on the Bibish household. He deserves recognition.

As the end approached there were many who eased her transition including Mobile Meals, Friends of the Family, and finally Hospice of NWO. They all merit recognition.

Family will receive guests on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 9:00 am until the start of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo. Burial will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
