Charlotte Elizabeth Lohbauer, a devoted homemaker and an exemplary wife and mother, passed away on November 14, 2025, in Sylvania, Ohio, at the age of 87. Born on March 24, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, Char, as she was affectionately known by her friends, led a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Over the years, Charlotte embraced her roles with vigor and passion, nurturing her family and creating a warm home for her children: James (Amy) Lohbauer Jr., Vicky Lohbauer, and Dan (Shelly) Lohbauer. She played a pivotal role in their lives, instilling values of hard work and dedication as she raised four beloved children. Her legacy is beautifully continued through her grandchildren Brandy, Jay (Missy), Nichole, Rachel (Terry), Samantha (CJ), Shayna, Shaun, Amanda (Brock), James, William, Justin (Felicia), and Josh (Jessica) as well as her eleven cherished great-grandchildren.
Known for her feisty personality, Charlotte was not only family-oriented but also deeply involved in her hobbies, which brought her great joy. From crafting shows where she showcased her beautiful crochet work to the delightful scents of candles she lovingly made, her creative spirit shone brightly. Christmas was a particularly treasured time for her; it was during this festive season that her spirit of giving and love enveloped her family.
Charlotte's love for travel was evident in the many unforgettable cruises she took with her family to Greece, Italy, Mexico, Hawaii, Cancun, and beyond. She relished the simple joys of life, including the pleasure of spending time at her son Jim's new house and creating special moments with her loved ones.
A lover of music, Charlotte found great joy in Elvis's tunes and soothing gospel melodies, while margaritas were her drink of choice during celebrations. She was dedicated to preparing family feasts, even cooking Thanksgiving dinner just last year, fulfilling her role with love and care.
Charlotte shares her eternal love with those who have gone before her, including her beloved husband of 38 years, James Lohbauer Sr., her daughter Peggy Puls, her infant daughter Susan Marie Lohbauer, and her parents, Margaret and Edwin Heitman. Their memories live on in the hearts of her family, who carry forth the values she instilled.
