Charlene D. Burdge

Charlene D. Burdge, age 65, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on November 20, 2025. Born in Toledo on May 25, 1960, she was the beloved daughter of Frederick and Mary (Zera) Dauer.

A dedicated Registered Nurse, Charlene served at UTMC from 1982 until 2025. Her passion for nursing was complemented by her love for family, friends, cooking, baking, crocheting, and reading. Charlene was a source of kindness and warmth to all who knew her, often considered a mother figure to many. Her courage in facing her cancer diagnosis was inspiring; she remained resilient and unwavering until the end.

Charlene is survived by her loving husband, Bryan Burdge Sr., whom she married on June 26, 1982. She also leaves behind her daughter, Amanda (James) Ellis; her son, Bryan (Kristen) Burdge, Jr.; and four cherished grandchildren, Kristianya, Gavin, Isabellah, and Bryan, III. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings, Kathy (Carl), Fred, Colleen, and Marlene (Bill); her father and mother-in-law, Ed and Eileen Burdge; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Dauer, as well as several aunts and uncles.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, (SW Chapel), located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo.

In honor of Charlene's memory, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church or directly to the family.  Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
