Catherine Lindenberger, 94 of Toledo, Ohio, left this world on October 21,2025.
Catherine affectionately known as “Cathy” was born on July 19,1931. She attended St. Mary's grade school continuing onto Central Catholic High School (she was a proud alumni). In school she was always involved in plays, music, dancing and singing, along with taking German classes due to her love of her German Heritage. After high school she was a private secretary at Libby Glass Company, Martin-Parry Company and the Whitmer cafeteria, finally retiring at the age of 77. She was a strong-willed, hard working woman.
Her love for her German heritage continued with the Bavarian Sports Club, where she would go with her parents and would eventually join the Schuplatter dance group. It was here that she met her beloved husband, Karl Lindenberger. It was with Karl that she reached her most prized wish of going to Germany and meeting all her family in Bavaria and his family in Gerlingen, Germany. With Karl, they opened up a butcher shop where he would make the best variety of German sausages and meats. Upon the passing of Karl, Catherine became a member of the Toledo Swiss Singers. This continued her love of song and music.
At home she loved to work outside in the yard and go to numerous events. She enjoyed the Christmas holidays, where, she would have all the family sing Christmas songs, in German, on Christmas Eve. Catherine loved life.
Catherine precedes in death her husband Karl, parents Otto and Kathryn, and her sister Martha.
Catherine is survived by her beloved children: John (Karen), Marsha (Al), and Bob (Toni), six grandchildren; Stephanie, Micah, Brian, Matt, Andrea, and Adam, nine great grandchildren; Aidan, Asher, Naya, Jackson, Jonathan, Savannah, James, Ellia and Greyson, brother John (Janet), and sister Norma (Richard).
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers Mary, Anna, Martha, Ina, Takeila and Tina. You are an amazing group of women that allowed our mother to be able to stay at home. In addition, a special thanks to Elara Hospice for their great care and service.
