Carolyn A. (Kujawski) Wilburn, left her earthly home to join her husband, Everett, and her parents, George and Claribel Kujawski, on January 9, 2026. She was born September 6, 1929 in Sylvania, Ohio, and graduated from Sylvania Burnham High School in 1947. She married Donald Thornton in 1948 and they raised five children, Marsha, Bernard, Jacquelyn, Ronald and Barbara in their 20 years married. In June 1972, Carolyn married Everett Wilburn, and enjoyed traveling with him all over the U.S. in their motor home. Carolyn worked at Owens Illinois for 20 years. She then worked for Attorney H. James Dear, and then for Engineer James Morris. Later she also worked for Hensley Manufacturing.
Carolyn is survived by her brothers, Norman (Marion) Kujawski, James Kujawski, Lewis Kujawski; sister, Maribel Hyatt; sons, Bernard (Donna) Thornton and Ronald (Amy) Thornton; daughters, Marsha (Curtis) Moore, Jacquelyn (Tim) Holmes and Barbara Plotner; step-daughter, Toni (Bob) Lindenberger; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great, great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Everett and his two sons, Randall and Ronald Wilburn; grandson, Joshua Wilburn; granddaughter, Julia (Thornton) Bolden; and brother, Walter Kujawski; son-in-law, Thomas Plotner.
Carolyn attended the Dorr Street Church of God as a young child, later the Maumee Church of God, the South Toledo Baptist Church and most recently Heritage Church of God, Maumee, OH.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Heritage Church of God, 3520 Strayer Road, Maumee, OH 43537 with Pastor Tanya Kelly officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Church of God in Carolyn's memory.
