Toledo,Ohio

In Loving Memory of Caroline Catherine Momberg, 80, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family in Perrysburg, Ohio. Born on March 29, 1945, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Caroline lived a rich, adventurous life filled with purpose, passion, and devotion to her family.

Caroline lived much of her life in Lambertville, Michigan and later retired to North Fort Myers, Florida.

Caroline was a proud graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Class of 1964. Her professional journey spanned various esteemed roles, including a flight attendant at Toledo Express Airport for over five years. In addition, Caroline worked as a waitress, travel agent, interior designer, and entrepreneur, even owning her own cleaning service. Her diverse career reflected her dynamic personality, marked by adaptability, determination, and an ever-inspiring spirit.

Family was at the heart of Caroline's life. She was the rock of her family—a devoted mother, confidant, and friend. She shared an exceptional bond with her children, always offering love, support, and guidance. Her 53-year marriage to Wayne Leroy Momberg was a testament to their deep affection for each other.

A free spirit with a zest for adventure, Caroline found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid traveler, dancer, and beach lover. If given the choice, she would have lived out of her suitcase, exploring the world with wonder and enthusiasm. Her love for gardening was evident, earning her the "Yard of the Year" award in Lambertville, Michigan. Caroline’s talent for creating joy and warmth extended to her passion for hosting gatherings, where laughter and love were always in abundance.

Caroline’s deep sense of community was reflected in her many affiliations. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society, Toledo Metropolitan Ladies Club, Lambertville Civics Club, Jaycees Club, American Legion in Fort Myers, and the Moose Club of Sylvania, Ohio, among others. Her tireless dedication to service and her ability to connect with others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Caroline’s legacy lives on through her cherished family: her daughter, DebbyAnn (James) Bowler; her son, Daniel (Lynn) Momberg; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her spirit of warmth, generosity, and love. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Arelia Gaye Tumidajewicz, and numerous extended family members and friends. Caroline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Momberg; her son, Douglas Scott; her father, Truman Savey, her mother, Catherine Savey and her brother, Joseph Tumidajewicz, and her cherished aunt, Sophie Godin.

In accordance with Caroline’s wishes, a private burial will take place at a later date, with her final resting place at sea. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Caroline's name to the Parkinson’s Society.

Caroline’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, adventure, and service. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
