With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Ann Palmer, who passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by her family. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. Family came first and was above all else, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. Our family, and her role as mother, grandmother and great grandmother, was the most important thing to her. This is where she drew her strength and left her legacy. She was a devoted mother, Nana, Memaw, sister and friend. Her life can best be encapsulated by four "F" words: Family, Friends, Food and Fun. In her almost 86 years of life, she experienced an abundance of each. Her homemade lasagna was legendary, and she delighted in teaching the recipe to each new generation. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and in her later years, her great grandchildren. Many times were spent with them watching re-runs on Nick at Nite during the countless sleepovers they shared growing up and she was especially fond of shows like The Golden Girls, Everybody Loves Raymond and Cake Boss, to name just a few. She was a huge supporter of all their school activities, doing arts and craft projects with them, and enjoyed spending countless hours in the car cruising the town and going out to eat with her “partner in crime”, Randy.
A longtime resident of Toledo, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister Doris (Dee) and great grandson Adrian Wertz. She is survived by her children Dawn Garrett (Roy), Walter Stimax Jr. (Sheila), Sheri Stimax (Leo), and Kim Palmer (Jason); her grandchildren Tiffany Wertz (Billy), TJ Winkelman (Noah), Lionel Garcia, Brandon Winkelman (Tyler), Wyatt Stimax, Alexis Palmer and Jayleahna, Jaynyzha and Taniyha Maynor and great grandchildren Brenden and Breahna Wertz, Donovin Parks, Jessica Chriss, Jamie Petroff Jr and Billy Wertz Jr. She also leaves behind her beloved companion and dear friend of nearly 50 years, Randy Davis. In addition, she is survived by her many “kids” who knew her over the years as Nana and Memaw.
She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Her love, her laughter, and her spirit will forever be a part of us. Rest in peace.
