Her tireless activism earned her the distinguished "Hero of the Homeless" award from the Michigan State Legislature, recognizing her steadfast support for at-risk and homeless families. Additionally, she was honored with the Special Recognition Award from the Monroe County Board of Commissioners, a testament to over two decades of devoted service on the Monroe County Social Services Board. These accolades symbolize the impact she made and the lives she touched through her compassionate work.
Carol was cherished by her loving husband, R. LaMar Frederick, who survives her and remains a steadfast presence during this time of loss. Their partnership was a source of strength and mutual support throughout the years.
