Carol Ann Groenleer, born on April 1, 1947, in Sylvania, Ohio, left this world peacefully on January 9, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio. A cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family.

Carol’s professional journey saw her serve as a bookkeeper and clerk for many years, notably at Holland Building Services, before retiring in 2013. A graduate of Sylvania High School, her contributions to her community and workplace were marked by dedication and integrity.

In her personal life, Carol was a natural hostess, creating joyous memories while entertaining her family and friends with memorable cookouts and parties. Her home was always a place of warmth and laughter, reflecting her gentle spirit and love for bringing people together. She shared a passion for games with her loved ones, often indulging in friendly competition with classics such as euchre, pinochle, and dominos. A loyal fan of the University of Michigan Football Team, she found joy in cheering for her team, a reflection of her spirited nature.

Carol is survived by her beloved son, Rob Groenleer, and daughter-in-law, Tracey Groenleer, who brought her immense joy and pride. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Cole Groenleer and Sierra Hawkins, who were the light of her life and the center of her universe. She also leaves her loving siblings, Orvel (Elaine) Konz and Tom (Amy) Konz, who held a dear place in her heart.

Though Carol experienced heartbreaking losses during her life, including her beloved husband, William "Bill" Groenleer, and other dear family members such as her parents, Fern and Leo Konz, and her siblings, she remained a pillar of strength for those around her. Her life was not without its struggles, but her ability to extend love and support to her family highlighted the grace with which she navigated her journey.
