Carol A. French

Carol A. French, age 83, of Toledo, OH, passed away September 9, 2023. She had an amazing life full of love and laughter and leaves behind the best memories for her family to cherish. She met the love of her life, John French before graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1957 and married him in 1959. She loved being a mom and homemaker to her 4 children. She loved ceramics, camping and playing Bunco with her friends. She later worked various jobs until landing her favorite job at MCO as a residence coordinator in the radiology department. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Frances Schlagheck and her sister, Joan Gordon. She is survived by her beloved husband, John A. French, children, Julie (Dave) Averill, David French, Jon French and Robert (Kimberly) French, grandchildren, Brandon Ramirez, Lindsay Ramirez, Kevin Averill, Josh and Justin Hupp, great granddaughter, Skyler Fluss, many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and her best friend Patricia Sams.

A visitation will be held from 2-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614.

A funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, with a visitation starting at 10:30 a.m at Gesu Catholic Church 2049 Parkside Blvd, Toledo, OH 43607.

Carol will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery – Maumee.
