Carol Ann Cary, age 87, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, with her devoted daughter, Beth, by her side. Carol was born on August 6, 1939, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Robert Carroll Mason and Viola Elizabeth Mason. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School with the Class of 1957.

A lifelong believer in the value of education and personal growth, Carol furthered her studies at Lourdes College, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1991.

Carol dedicated much of her life to serving others through her work. She was employed as a secretary at Hope United Methodist Church for ten years, where she faithfully supported the ministry and congregation. She later continued her career with the American Red Cross, serving for twelve years as Secretary to the Director of Disaster Services, helping support efforts that brought comfort and assistance to those in need.

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert Carroll Mason in 1960 and Viola Elizabeth Mason in 1971; and by her brother, Ronald Curtis Mason, in 1999. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Beth Ann (John) Gears; granddaughters, Haley Elizabeth (Gabe) Pinciotti and Erica Ann (Timothy) Langlois; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Luca, Quinton, Gia, Everly, and Rocco.

She will be fondly remembered as the University of Michigan's biggest fan. Whether cheering from home or proudly wearing maize and blue, Carol's unwavering support for the Wolverines was well known to family and friends. "Go Blue!" was more than a phrase to her; it was a reflection of her enthusiasm and spirit.

She will also be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strong work ethic, her compassionate heart, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the compassionate care, kindness, and comfort they provided to Carol and her family during her final days. Their dedication, support, and gentle presence brought peace and reassurance during a difficult time and will always be remembered with sincere appreciation.
