Carl J. Tabbert

Carl J. Tabbert, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away on 4,2026, at the age of 70 in Toledo, Ohio, where he was born on May 16, 1955. Carl lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep affection for his family.

For 30 years, Carl served as a local truck driver with Pro-Pak Industries, a role he took immense pride in. Following his retirement, he embraced the joys of life alongside his dear wife, Sonja. Married for 53 wonderful years, their relationship was characterized by love and companionship, often filled with adventures as they traveled together on cruises. Carl’s straightforward and honest approach to life made him a valued friend, and those fortunate enough to know him appreciated his no-nonsense attitude and kindness.

Family meant everything to Carl. He is survived by his loving wife, Sonja Tabbert; sisters Margarette Plonski and her husband Walter, Pamela Stoltz and her husband Ken, Birdina Mishling and her husband Mike; sister-in-law Karen Payne; sisters-in-law Cheryl Miller, Candice Wajer and her husband John, and Alice Smith; in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Carl was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Tabbert, as well as his parents, Kenneth J. Tabbert and Margarete Tabbert. Their absence is keenly felt, but Carl's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.

Family and friends are invited to honor Carl's life during visitation on February 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. He will then be laid to rest in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park at 2:15 PM.

Carl J. Tabbert leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and spirit that will not be forgotten. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
