Throughout his career, Carl made notable contributions as a skilled carpenter. There was hardly any task that he could not tackle, whether it was working on cars, tending to his garage, or working in his yard. His willingness to lend a hand often extended beyond his own home, as he was always ready to assist others with repairs and rebuilding efforts. Carl's strong work ethic and versatility were hallmarks of his character.
Beyond his professional life, Carl was characterized by his goofy, fun-loving personality. He was a sensitive and protective family man, cherishing the moments spent with his loved ones. His joy was further amplified by his hobbies, which included indulging in good food and fishing. Carl maintained a special relationship with God, which played an integral role in his life's journey.

He was married to Ethelda Jeannie King for 55 wonderful years, and their bond exemplified the essence of a devoted partnership. His legacy continues through his children, including son Carl Ray King Jr., daughter Dianna Holley Dressel, and step-son Steven Blank and wife Mary, as well as step-daughter Linda Brown and husband Doran. His grandchildren, Carl Ray King III and wife Jamie, Rachel Echler, Kansas Dressel, and Sara Rice and husband Cornell, were sources of immense pride. He also relished his role as a great-grandfather to Karleigh King, Jordin Vassel, Amir Mister, CJ Rice, Mia Rice, and JC Rice, along with three step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his immediate family, Carl shared his recent life with his companion, Gloria Cooper, along with a plethora of loving family members and friends from Gloria's side and beyond. Visitation and funeral services will be held on December 6, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo, Ohio. The visitation will commence at 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM.
