Bruce E. Rasor, of Riga, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 20, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, to the late E. Vernon and Dorothy B. (Edwards) Rasor.
Bruce was proud to have been born and raised in the small town of Cairo, Ohio, that he always considered his home. He came to know Jesus at Cairo United Methodist Church, where he was a member and regular attender most of his life. Bruce was a graduate of Lima Bath High School and Bowling Green State University, where he also caught for the Falcons baseball team and was named as an Academic All-American in 1969-70 and again in 1970-71. He went on to teach high school Math at Columbus Grove High School and coached baseball there, and also taught at Lima Bath High School. After leaving the teaching profession, he was employed as a manufacturing engineer, retiring from Triumph Thermal Systems in Forest, Ohio. Bruce’s interests outside of work included coaching his kids’ little league baseball and rec basketball teams, attending his grandkids' sporting events and extracurricular activities, being active in and serving at his church Blissfield Emmanuel UMC, watching his favorite team the Boston Red Sox, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. His main hobby was pheasant hunting and raising and training many English Pointers over the years, which he loved like his second children.
Bruce is survived by Christine (Dunnett), his wife of 55 years, sons Travis (Tammy) of Riga, MI and Jason (Shauna) of Temperance, MI, his daughter Gail (Christopher) Graber of Temperance, MI, and grandchildren Luke, Emily, Grant, Kaia, and Ellie. He is also survived by his sister Nancy (Paul) Cain of Leipsic, Ohio. He was preceded in death by sisters, Gail Rasor and Shirley Ann Wingeart, and brother David Rasor.
A celebration of life will be held at Cairo United Methodist Church (Cairo, OH) on Saturday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and a meal to follow. Memorials can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
