Brian Rost Fox of Maumee, Ohio, was a son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He left the world too soon on April 23, 2026 at the age of 36. Born on September 30, 1989 in Maumee, Ohio. Brian graduated from Maumee High School in 2008.
Brian was a nomadic cook and master pizza chef, who brought his craft from Maumee, to Columbus, Los Angeles and Maui, always following the people he loved most, before ultimately returning home to Maumee to be with family.
He had a playful, bohemian spirit and was always laughing, with an infectious and unmistakable laugh you could pick out in a crowded room. Whether he was making fun of you or himself, he was always smiling. You could count on him to tease you and rile you up at any chance he got.
Brian had a presence that made people feel at ease. A friend to all and unapologetically himself, he gave others the freedom to be themselves around him. He was intelligent, and often described as an old soul. Wise beyond his years, he was known for his exceptional taste in music and his love of live events. Brian connected with others through shared music and deep meaningful conversations.
A devoted sports fan and trusted sports analyst, Brian shared his passion for the Detroit Lions with his father. They especially cherished times spent together watching games at home and attending The University of Toledo Rocket’s games.
Brian was a family man, known as “Bubba” by his siblings, and a loving playful uncle to his 3 nieces (Emma, Norah, Freya) and 3 nephews (Jack, Luca and Theo).
He is survived by his parents Lorrie and James Fox; and siblings, Gary Joseph, Jay (Sofi) Fox, Kelly Fox, Kayla (Sierra) Fox, Brooklyn (Lluis Meneses) Fox, and Devin Fox.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ethel and Don Mominee and Margaret and Fred Fox, and Uncles Michael Varwig and Paul "Skip" Varwig.
Brian’s contagious laughter and sense of humor will be deeply missed. May his love and memory live on in all who knew him.
Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home, (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating Brian's life will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
