Betty June Zippay, a cherished mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in Maumee, Ohio, at the age of 75. Born on December 19, 1949, in Toledo, she was the daughter of Raymond and Bonnie Brown. Betty is remembered for her unwavering strength and resilience, particularly after the loss of her beloved husband, John Zippay Sr. Together, they created a nurturing home for their three children.

After John's passing, Betty dedicated her time to raising her three kids, showcasing her selflessness and devotion. She later joined the workforce at the Pharm, where she undertook multiple roles within their retail environment until her retirement. Betty's commitment to her family and career exemplified her strong work ethic.

Known for her brutally honest and blunt nature, Betty also had a heart of gold, which endeared her to many. She had a passion for bluegrass music and was a talented banjo player, often sharing her love for music with those around her.

Betty was immensely proud of her family. She leaves behind her daughters, Tammie Monti and her husband James, and Jennifer Zippay; her son John Zippay Jr. and his wife Kristen; and her beloved grandchildren: Ronald Piasecki III, Robert Monti and his wife Allison, Hannah Monti, Brandon Monti, John Monti, Cezar Kreger, Phoenix Kreger, Sage Kreger, Ciruss Kreger, Ciara Archambeau, John Zippay III, and Kylie Zippay. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Lucinda Beach and her husband Robert, her sister Sandra Grabarczyk, her sister Ruby Croskey and her husband Raymond, her sister Shirley Graham and her husband Jeff, her brother-in-law James Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving extended family members.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, John Zippay Sr.; her sister Christine Parker; her father Raymond Brown; her mother Bonnie Brown; and her brother-in-law Joseph Grabarczyk Sr.

The community is invited to honor Betty's life at a visitation on November 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Southwest Toledo. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM, with a graveside service taking place at Springfield Township Cemetery in Holland at 2:15 PM.

Those who knew Betty will remember her as a pillar of strength and love, whose spirit and legacy will continue to resonate within her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
